Summer Camp, 2015, at Camp Clements
Peabody FFA had an amazing week (June 22-26) at Camp Clements this year:
  • Chas ​Rowlett won Quiz Contest.
  • Hannah Redburn was 4th place in extemporaneous speaking and participated in the talent show.
  • Crunchy Barrientos, Hannah Redburn, Karen Allen, Chas Rowlett, Bethany McKenzie, Creed Temple, and Dylan Grooms got outstanding leaders.
  • Chas Rowlett, Creed Temple, and Hannah Redburn won Best Athlete for their teams
  • Dylan Grooms won Best Sport for his team.
  • Chas Rowlett, Karen Allen, Hannah Redburn, Crunchy Barrientos, Bethany McKenzie, and Horacio Barrientos did Opening and Closing Ceremonies Wednesday night and also raised the flag Friday morning.
  • Crunchy Barrientos, Karen Allen, Chas Rowlett, and Dylan Grooms also made it to the quarterfinals in Quiz Bowl.
  • To top this successful week off, Peabody won the Outstanding Officer Team for the first time since '98. We are extremely proud of these 9 students and we are looking forward to continuing this amazing year!

PEABODY FFA HAS OUTSTANDING OFFICER TEAM AT STATE CAMP

DOYLE, TN – The Peabody Future Farmers of America (FFA) Chapter of Gibson County was presented with the Outstanding Officer Team Award at Camp Clements on June 26, 2015. More than 200 students, advisors and guests attended what was the fourth of six weeks of Leadership Training Camp offered to the Tennessee FFA membership.

Chapter officer teams must be active in officer classes, specialty classes, have a representative elected to Camp Council, and have a large sum of their members qualify for the gold leadership award to be considered for the Outstanding Officer Team Award.

The Peabody FFA officers are: President, Karen Allen; Vice President, Chas Rowlett; Secretary, Crunchy Barrientos; Treasurer, Bethany McKenzie; Reporter, Hannah Redburn; and Sentinel, Dylan Grooms. The chapter’s advisor is Michael Allen.

FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth, and career success through agricultural education. Nationally, there are 610,240 FFA members, aged 12-21. The Tennessee FFA Association is comprised of more than 13,000 members from 214 high school chapters, seven middle school chapters, and eight collegiate chapters across the state of Tennessee.
